Story behind the design
Localisation plan
During the day, when the nurse care is needed, rest of the house can be shut down completely.
During the afternoon when the rest of the family is at home, it can be opened and somehow “added” to the living space where all of family members meet and live. As I believe everyone should feel at their place while at home. House shouldn't be just another place, shouldn't also just show the relations of power between family members expressed in language of space.

Task was to come up with design that will handle 5-person family (one of which is in terminal state, with need of nursing care during daytime) inside a building containing only 180 sqm of total area.
My decision was to create, in those limits, a house with one and additional “half” apartment - room of ailing woman is connected to the living room, not to put her away from the family life and in the same time it got it’s own bathroom, entrance and kitchen access. Tha aim of creating house reduced to 180 sqm (what seems in project localisation area, region, country,
and even common sense of users and designers not very much for 5 people) was invented especially to make IVth semester assignment harder and more complicated. My tutors used to say that is quite easy to design a big house - if something is not working properly one can always expand the house as needed, there are no problems. "We are deliberately imposing you to small total area of the building. We believe that it is not so difficult to design a big house ... we will make it a little wider here and there, here we will add some space ... It is hard for it to design a small house. If you learn to design a small house, you will be able to design both, small and large"
