Story behind the design
My designing answer is little lantern-like barge - small capsules providing possibility of literally floating-away from the shore of the lake. Perfect for people in search of meditation, relax, birds watching enthusiasts (small island full of birds is in the middle of the lake) or even just tired tourists after whole day of travelling. Person that want to spend his or her night on this little barge needs to pull out him/herself out of the shore manually by pulling the wire. Method is similar to the one used at little line-ferries, fully ecological (does not use any kind of motor) and natural. Being connected with the shore by the steel line it is impossible to be blown away by the wind or waves. Position of the barge is quite stable, there are no safety worries. |
II Semester Assignment was to create a kind of "safe vessel" for a traveler who needs to find a place to sleep after the whole day full of activities.
My answer to that design question was connected to the idea of getting the most interesting things, which are possible to achieve in the particular, chosen localisation. Lake - as a most intriguing part of localisation landscape was my field of interest - what if a traveler, for the whole long day connected to the land, could sleep on the water? Distance him/herself from the ground? |
